Series: Pretty Trilogy #1
Author: Donna Alam
Genre: Erotic Romance
 Release Date: November 27, 2014

Blurb

A Charming playboy. A girl on the run from love. An exotic location where the weather isn't the only thing that's hot.

Kate Saunders is sure of only one thing as her flight to a new life lands in a new country: short of joining a convent, her new job teaching at an all-female school is just what she needs.

Until she meets Kai.

Cultured and worldly, Kai lives a life of wealth and privilege where he always gets what he wants. And what he wants next is Kate. He's determined their relationship is only going one place: his bed.

The road to hell isn't only paved with good intentions, it's also littered with underwear as Kate struggles to resist Kai's sweet, filthy mouth. Talented of tongue he may be, but he's also not quite who he appears to be. Kate's life is about to take a turn for the complicated, leaving the one she left behind look easy.

Reviews

“Wow. Just… WOW. This was a completely different book, in a great way. This book, as the title suggests, brings the heat. It is also one of the funniest books I have read in a long time.” ~ Give Me Books

“This was so much more than I'd bargained for, excellent writing, great plot, hot dominant alpha male. But what I really found a breath of fresh air was the comedic value. Think Alice Clayton or Tara Sivec style.” ~ Kelsey’s Korner

“I soaked this book up like a sponge. When it was over I wanted to cry but then I found there was a book 2. Oh boy, my inner bookworm was squirming for more. Get the book, go on and one click it; it’s a no fail guarantee from someone who reads about eight books a week.” ~ Reviewer

Excerpt

In the dark, I come to, my face plastered against the sofa cushion, an empty glass cradled to my chest. My phone is ringing. Wincing, I switch on the kitchen light, mentally preparing some choice vocabulary additions for my mum, just in case. I have two missed calls from Australia, along with the current one.

‘Kitten.’ This one husky word pulls taut invisible strings inside. If voices were a flavour, I’m sure Kai’s would be caramel. And despite earlier abstinence plans, I find I don’t mind being referred to as a feline by this man. ‘You do know the thing you’re holding to your ear is called a mobile for a reason, or are you avoiding me?’

I can almost hear his rancorously raised eyebrow down the line.

‘No, I like talking to you. You’re a pretty cunning linguist,’ I say with a giggle, then replay the statement in my head, surprised the words came out coherently.

‘Cunnilingus?’ Enunciated slowly, the word rings with salacious intent. ‘Are we talking dirty again?’

I don’t have a response. In fact, I can’t think beyond his mention of cunnilingus. The effect on my body is disconcerting, my knees requiring that I sit down.

‘I didn’t say that,’ I eventually answer, albeit a little breathlessly.

‘Don’t spoil my fun, I’m allowed to imagine.’ He laughs, the rich, seductive sound vibrating down the line.

And I like that he’s imagining. In fact, right now, I’d like to audition for a starring role in those thoughts. That I don’t answer doesn’t seem to put him off his stride, the words rolling down the line and straight to my lady-parts.

‘You’ve been on the sauce and that’s something I don’t need to imagine. Your face flushed with wine, lips plump with the taste of it . . . Tell me, did you enjoy a girly liquid lunch or are you drinking alone now? Drowning your sorrows and thinking of me, perhaps?’

‘I’m not lonely,’ I answer, realising this as true. Dubai hasn’t allowed me to be.

‘I thought you might be missing me.’ Forlorn. It’s like a sweater that doesn’t fit.

‘I had sundowners. Martinis.’ No need to mention the half empty bottle propped next to my arm. ‘Dirty. Like you.’ Crap. Did I just say that out loud?

‘And you like that, do you?’

‘Maybe.’ My fingertips jump and dance along the worktop as he hums down the line. It’s the best explanation I can come up with; a breath of appreciation that curls around my ear and shoots straight to my crotch.

‘Dirty from the girl who suggests cunn—’

‘Did not.’

‘It’s always good to know what’s on your mind. It’s even better when minds are synchronized.’

Author Bio

Donna Alam writes about exotic locations and the men you aren't married to, but might sometimes wish you were. Escapism reads with heart, humour, and plenty of steam.

Hailing from the North of England, she's a nomad at heart, moving houses and continents more times than she cares to recall. She once worked at a school like the one described in her Pretty Trilogy. Alas, there were no handsome millionaires hanging around there.

Eclectic reader and part-time perv, Donna is a huge fan of smart men and protagonists with a fair measure of inappropriateness.

Cover Designer: WICKED BY DESIGN
——— SYNOPSIS ———

Living in the spotlight was just part of Tyler’s life. Magazines, paparazzi, and being the topic of every sports radio show in Australia…it was either adjust or be driven insane. He’d gotten used to his fame. Hell, he even enjoyed it. But there is one thing he can’t get used to—his girlfriend, Ava Jacobs, hates being the center of the public’s attention.

Ava has lived her life in the shadows—and that’s exactly how she likes it.

But after fulfilling her lifelong dream to have her debut novel published, her world is turned on its head by Tyler’s fame. She writes novels for a reason—it’s a quiet, peaceful profession. The last thing she wants is to be thrown into the spotlight.

Love and life don’t always fit as well as fame and fortune.

Frustrated by Ava’s continuous reluctance to publicly embrace their relationship, Tyler takes every opportunity to make his own declarations—social media posts, visiting her at work, and even crashing her first television promotional appearance, which she grudgingly accepted as part of her publishing deal.

So when something changes and Tyler abruptly pulls away, Ava knows something is terribly wrong.

With Olympic selection looming, Ava’s publisher eagerly awaiting a sequel to her hit novel, and day-to-day life taking a toll, Tyler starts to see that life is much easier in the pool than…

Title: Bayward Street
Author: Addison Jane
Genre: Young Adult Romance/Coming of Age
 Release Date: May 19, 2016

Blurb

The law said I was a runaway.
I preferred the term survivor.
After being broken down and emotionally tortured for fifteen years, I made a choice to change the path that my life was on.
It left me alone, homeless and scared, but alive.
The streets were where I found my family. A group of kids like me who society had failed to protect.
We weren't teenagers anymore – we were a statistic, a nuisance, the scum on the bottom of the city’s shoe.

When he showed up that night, I never expected to feel the things I did.
He was honest and protective and he saw straight through the hardened exterior that I had created.
He made me want to fight for something better.
I could run, go back to the street and continue risking my life just to live.
But now, being offered something more, I wasn't sure if I could go back without at least a taste of what it was like.
We came from two completely different worlds, but they were about to collide. And I was about to learn that maybe the grass really wasn't that much greener on the other side.

Excerpt

“I’m sure teenage boys are supposed to be covered in acne and full of awkwardness,” Lay whispered.

“They obviously missed that memo,” I replied dryly.

Both their heads popped up when they heard us across the pool. Braydon grinned widely and put his fingers into his mouth, letting out a loud wolf whistle. “Hey baby, you come here often?” he called, followed by deep laughter.

Layla raised her middle finger at him. “Don’t be a pig, rich boy.”

Braydon pretended to grab his heart like she’d just broken it, and fell sideways into the pool, the water bursting around him. Layla threw herself in after him, pressing on his head as he attempted to come to the surface and laughing manically.

Heath walked around the pool, a rare smile on his face. “A couple of meetings and those two think they're siblings,” I commented, trying to avoid looking at him because every time I did I just stared in awe.

Heath chuckled. “I don’t think Bray sees it that way.”

I wanted to ask him what he meant, but before I could, he took my hand and led me to the steps that disappeared into the pool. I walked in beside him, the water was cool, but not cold—more like the warmth of a bath after you climb out. I gripped Heath's hand tighter as he walked me further and further, the water rising to up around my waist and my feet beginning to float off the ground.

Water splashed around us, and the air was filled with laughter as Bray and Layla continued their epic battle for dominance.

I took a step back but he wound his arms around my waist and held me still. “It's fine. I'm right here.” He smiled down at me, it was comforting and I couldn't help but smile back.

“You're always so serious, but that grin hasn't left your mouth since you got out here.”

I squeaked when he lifted me off my feet and pressed my legs so they wound around his waist. My arms went straight to his neck and I clung to him like a monkey. He waded further into the water.

“Heath, stop,” I warned as his feet left the ground and he kept us afloat purely by his own strength. The water made me feel weightless and soon he didn't even need to hold me up, using his arms as well to tread the water.

“Heath…” The warning was harsher now as I stared at him in shock, realizing just how far we were from the side of the pool.

“Are you scared?” he asked, only slightly breathless even as he worked to keep us afloat.

Was I scared?

“Not really.”

“Why not?”

I knew the answer he was looking for, I could see it in his eyes and his face. He wanted me to say it. He knew it was already true.

“Because I trust you.”

Title: Wasted Words
Author: Staci Hart
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: May 19, 2016

Blurb

Some universal truths refuse to be ignored.

Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don’t go for girls like Cam Emerson.

She knew from the second she met him that he didn’t belong on her bookshelf, the six-foot-six ex-tight end with a face so all-American, it could have sold apple pie. So she shelved him next to the supermodels and rock stars and took her place on her own shelf — the one with the flannel-clad, pasty-faced comic book nerds. Most of her boyfriends have existed between the pages of books, but rather than worrying over her own lacking love life, she puts all her energy into playing Cupid, using her job at the book bar, Wasted Words, as her stomping ground.

Tyler Knight always looks on the bright side. His career-ending injury turned into a job as a sports agent. A horrible breakup led him to Cam, his quirky, smart roommate who is far more beautiful than she realizes. She’s made it perfectly clear she’s not interested in him — not like that at least — but if she ever changes her mind, he won’t hesitate. Because he doesn’t see the lines she’s drawn between them, as much as she insists that they’re there. Deep down he knows that despite their differences, they’re a match well made.

*A romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma*

WTMO Excerpt Banner Final.jpg

The name on the file folder, J. McKenna, gave me a chill. He had been wounded in the line of duty—shot by a bank robbery suspect. Seeing the name reminded me of where I came from and why the need for hiding existed. I pushed the memories down. I’m not that person anymore. That person doesn’t exist. It wasn’t necessary to touch the necklace underneath my sweater as a reminder, but it had become a nervous habit. The locket was the only thing I had kept from that life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The door opened and Sheila showed my patient in. As my eyes met his, my heart stopped for what seemed like hours. After reading the file, I was afraid of this. How many Jackson McKenna’s could there be? The hair is shorter and the face is older, but it’s him. I would know those eyes anywhere. Jackson McKenna. He was my first love and indirectly, the reason I had to use a cane to walk farther than across the room.
I cleared my throat and stood, reaching out to shake his hand as I would with any new patient, hoping he didn’t recognize me.
“I’m Dr. Parker. Please make yourself comfortable, Officer McKenna, and we can get started.”
When I realized his right arm was in a sling and we couldn’t shake hands, I dropped mine back to my side. Picking up my notepad and pen, I hoped he didn’t see the way my hands were shaking.
“It’s actually Detective, not Officer.”
He sat on the couch across from me, observing with those hazel eyes that have haunted my dreams for ten years, and then he shook his head.
“You remind me of someone I used to know a long time ago.”
OUR REVIEWS
****Kim's review!****
Gavin Saint AKA the Hustler is a big time poker player with an ego to match his greatness, he's got his pick of the ladies and his life is brilliant, until in walks the little fire cracker Penelope and all he knows comes crashing down! The new cocktail waitress has spunk and won't fall for Mr. hotshots lines and propositions. He's certainly met his match with this one!
Hustler had me laughing out loud right from the very start. Some very hot scenes mixed with some great comedy makes this book a brilliant feel good read. I am dying to read about Gavin and Penelope's friends Graham and Page, I'm guessing their story will be very entertaining!
Four stars from me!
*****Nic's Review!!*****
This was a fantastic book! Full of comic humor.
Gavin Saint  is known as the best poker player. he is a player and is on his game.  He is thrown off by a new cocktail waitress Penelope.  She has a attitude that won't take crap from men who think they have an entitlement issue. When Gavin and Penelope meet their world changes. Looking forward to more.  5 stars rating from me!!!!!
I would highly recommend this book to friends and family.
When we were forced to go to Paris together for an assignment, I wasn’t interested in his seductive smile, his sexy accent or his dirty laugh. I wasn’t falling for his charms.
Until I did.
Until Paris.
Until he was kissing me and I was wondering how it happened. Until he was dragging his lips across my skin and I was hoping for more. Paris does funny things to a girl and he might have gotten me naked.
They tell me it’s unhealthy, just a stupid crush. They tell me it’s infatuation, and will never come to anything. Never mean anything.
Because what would I know, right?
I really do love Mr Roberts.
I love Mr Roberts because he’s the most amazing man, the most amazing artist, the most amazing teacher that could ever have existed.
What if Mr Roberts really does want to Teach Me Dirty?
****Kim's Review!****
I haven't read many student teacher romance books, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. I've read all Jade Wests Dirty Bad Series and loved them all so there wasn't any question about me wanting to review this one also.
Teach Me Dirty follows Helen Palmer a student who has been, and still is head over heals in love with her Art teacher. Mr Roberts hasn't a clue about this at first, she's successfully hidden her feelings for him for years, only fantasising about him in private. Until one day he finds out and all of a sudden everything changes for him.
No matter what if they have any kind of relationship it's still illegal, he's still her teacher and shouldn't be crossing that line. But the pair seem to be kindred spirits who share a major passion for art and it turns out each other too. Will it work out? Everything is against them, you'll have to read it to find out!
Honestly at first I was thinking I wasn't going to like this story, more the thinking about the whole teacher and high school student affair and how that was to me a little cringe worthy. But then I read on and found out that the leading lady Helen is actually in her last year of sixth form, she's 18 years old, she's an adult that's legally allowed to drink and have sex. After finding that out I felt tons better about the whole thing. Helen's best friend Elizabeth is brilliant and definitely has a great impact to the whole story. Not saying anymore about that! Toward the end I was routing for it to work out for the couple.
All in all I really enjoyed this, even if you're not into teacher student romance give this one a go it is rather different. Be prepared for dirty, just like its title suggests there's some teaching of that.  4  Stars!
*****Nic's Review!!!*****
I've not read any student teacher books because they are just not my thing. However I like Jade West's books. This book was about a young women named Helen who was in line be with her teacher Mark. When things finally started to develop it was quite intense and deep. I was not sure I was going to enjoy this book but I did. It was very emotional at the end and it pulled me in. I'm glad I gave this book a chance.
Jade West is a contemporary erotic author, real life submissive, and former sex chat-line operator, who is plenty used to getting people all steamed up with her dirty mouth. Her debut release, Dirty Bad Wrong, smashed into the Amazon top 100 in February 2015, followed by Dirty Bad Savage in June - an Amazon top 100 bestseller in 4 countries. Dirty Bad Strangers topped the erotica chart, reaching an impressive 13 overall in the US Kindle Store, and the latest tale of debauchery, Dirty Bad Secrets - returning to the heart of Club Explicit has just been unleashed on the public.
BLURB:
I make my living as a hustler, and I’m great at it.
I don’t have a single tell and use that to my advantage to manipulate any situation.
I’ve always known what a person is about to do before they’ve even decided.
That is, until I met Nell.
I can’t get a read on her, and what’s worse, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.
Which only makes me want her more.
Now I’m in for the hardest hustle of my life.
Somehow I have to convince Nell that she belongs with me.
Good thing I’m always up for a challenge.
EXCERPT:
Casually, I sit on the side of the table and take a sip of my drink as I let her eyes peruse my body. It’s a power move. Even though I’m eager to get to know this little hellion, I mask my reaction to her. Never show and tell, especially with women.
I can feel her eyes scanning me, focused on the bit of exposed skin near the collar of the shirt. They then travel down my stomach – little does she know what’s hiding underneath my clothing – and then to my crotch, then she immediately refocuses on her hands. I caught her though, she’s a goner as far as I’m concerned.
“Penelope Prescott,” I start, but I’m quickly interrupted.
“Nell.”
“Excuse me?”
“Everyone calls me Nell,” she clarifies.
I set my glass down and study her before saying, “Too bad for you, I’m not everyone.” Her mouth falls agape for a second before she closes it, trying not to let her shock show. I have a rather up front personality, it can catch some people off guard. Clearly, she’s one of them. “Now tell me, Penelope, how long have you worked for Hotel Paragon?”
I know the answer to my question, but when you’re holding the upper hand, you not only want to show power, but you also want to make the other person feel as though they have some control over the situation, when in fact, they don’t. Poker 101.
She wrings her hands together on her lap. Tell number one.
She’s nervous, but there’s a confidence in her eyes that almost boasts a cocky air around her. Unfortunately for her, I’m a master at reading people, so she’s doesn’t fool me one bit.
With her head held high, she answers, “A little over a year now.”
I nod. “And how long have you been working in the high roller room?”
She bites her lip before answering. Tell number two.
“It’s my first day today.”
I nod again. “And before you started, were you informed that the men playing at the table you would be serving are valuable members to this hotel, some of our most lavish and esteemed customers?”
She twirls a strand of hair around her finger. Tell number three.
“Yes, sir.”
“Mr. Saint,” I inform her.
“Sorry, yes, Mr. Saint.” She grits out my name, as if it’s painful for her to say.
OUR REVIEW
*****Nic's Review*****
This is a book about two people who have been hurt. They find each other and fall in love. The thing is, will the love between them, be strong enough to get them through the obstacles to find their happiness.
This book is an emotion one. I can't say I really ever warm up to Cal. He kind of pisses me off through the whole book. I love Taylor's character along with her best friend. Everyone needs a great friend like Laura.
I really hope Jenny Siegel writes more about more of these band members. I really would love to read about the drummer Lewis.
This was a good read and flowed well. I would recommend it to friends
******Kim's Review!!*****
Loves Riff follows Taylor Devlin as she auditions to be a bass player in a band. One look at the sexy lead guitarist and she is mush. Taylor has been hurt in the past and struggles to socialise and make new friends, especially if one of those friends is a male that wants to be more. Her friend Laura is the one to push her out of her comfort zone and make her audition to be in the band.
I enjoyed the banter between the band members, the friendship and loyalty the girls have for each other and the smoking hot chemistry between Taylor and Cal. It isn't plain sailing for the couple at all, throughout the book there's always something keeping them apart, or holding them back. Taylor is a bit of a badass and she doesn't realise how much she attracts the opposite sex. With that and her expert bass playing skills she makes a great female lead.
I'd love for a follow up story to find out more about the other members of the band, especially Lewis I have a feeling his story would be very interesting.
After ten years in the NFL, superstar Gray Fowler is accustomed to obsessive fans. But when Gray starts receiving death threats from a stalker, his team hires an executive protection agency to guard him until the culprit is caught. Dealing with bodyguards 24/7 is a headache, especially when one of them is a young, beautiful woman. How can a female half his size possibly protect him better than he can protect himself?  Dru Porter is a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt--none of which saved her from disaster on her last assignment. In order to rebuild her tarnished reputation, she's determined to find Gray's stalker and, since relationships between agents and clients are forbidden, avoid a romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.
Yet every secret that leads Dru closer to the stalker also draws her closer to Gray. As the danger escalates, they'll survive only if they can learn to trust their lives—and their hearts—to one another.
Praise for Her One and Only
"Down-to-earth, in-depth characters give the story an authentic feel. Dru, being the youngest Porter, is headstrong and sympathetic, and when she matches wits with Gray, their connection is as electric as their budding romance is sweet. A delightful read."--RT Book Reviews
How has being a Texan influenced your writing?
My love for Texas and Texans inspired my entire Porter Family series!  The Porters are born and bred Texans, and like most people who were raised in the Lone Star state, they can't imagine living anywhere else.  I tried very hard to capture the flavor of Texas in my descriptions of the setting and to highlight the ruggedness, manners, integrity, confidence, and independence of my Texas characters.
Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?
My particular genre is contemporary-set inspirational romance.
I first discovered love stories as a middle schooler and they've been my favorite type of novel ever since.  In my early twenties, when I began writing, I penned and published books in what was my preferred sub-genre at the time, general market historical romance.
Then my oldest child was born and I set writing aside because I was completely overwhelmed by the demands of caring for a newborn.  I didn't have the energy or the desire to write during that season.  But seven years later, God called me back to it.  By then, my values and goals had shifted.  Motherhood had changed me.  I knew for sure that, this time, I wanted to write inspirational romantic fiction.
Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from?
It came from a retro 1970s sofa in my childhood home.  Before I was old enough to read, my mom would sit me on that sofa beside her and read aloud to me.  We went through The Secret Garden and all the Little House on the Prairie books.  Whole worlds came alive in my imagination!  My passion for story began right then.  Right there.
What did you enjoy most about writing Her One and Only?
I most enjoyed the story's heroine, Dru Porter.  Dru is a professional bodyguard.  She's also a former Marine, a black belt, and a pistol shooting champion.  It was a joy to inhabit the character of such a brave and unflinching woman while working on Her One and Only.
What did you find most useful in learning to write?
Plugging into a writer's organization was the most useful thing I did.  In my case, Romance Writers of America was the first group I joined.  Through their chapter meetings, conferences, and magazine I learned a great deal about the craft of writing.  I connected with a critique group. I met writer friends who delighted in discussing writing as much as I did, who shared information, who encouraged me.
Are you a full-time or part-time writer?
I'm a part-time writer because my kids are 15, 12, and 7 and still require a lot of hands-on care.  I drive car pool, shepherd them to and from after school activities, rustle up dinner, nag them to do their homework, and make sure they're tucked into bed at a reasonable hour.
I write while they're in school unless I'm on deadline.  When I'm on deadline, I work full time hours but have to squeeze a lot of those hours in on weekends or evenings.
Do you have any strange writing habits you’d like to share with your readers?
During writing sessions, I often pop up from my chair without consciously meaning to and amble to my pantry to stare at the shelves.  This almost always happens when my brain is working out what should happen next in the scene.  More often than not, I'll return to my computer with chocolate.  And more often than not, the chocolate will power me through the thinking and the writing until the scene is through.
Thank you, Lone Star Book Blog Tours, for interviewing me!  I'm very proud to be a Texas author.
Becky’s a California native who attended Baylor University, met and married a Texan, and settled in Dallas.  She published historical romances for the general market before putting her career on hold for several years to care for her three children.  When God called her back to writing, Becky knew He meant for her to turn her attention to Christian fiction.  She loves writing funny, modern, and inspirational contemporary romance!  She’s the Carol Award and Inspirational Reader’s Choice Award winning author of My Stubborn Heart and the Texas-set Porter Family series:  Undeniably Yours, Meant to Be Mine, and A Love Like Ours, and Her One and Only.
There are certain things every Texan should know how to do and say, whether your Lone Star roots reach all the way back to the 1836 Republic or you were just transplanted here yesterday. That’s where How to Be a Texan can help.
In a friendly, lighthearted style, Andrea Valdez offers illustrated, easy-to-follow steps for dozens of authentic Texas activities and sayings. In no time, you’ll be talking like a Texan and dressing the part; hunting, fishing, and ranching; cooking your favorite Texas dishes; and dancing cumbia and two-step. How has being a Texan influenced your writing?
Being Texan doesn’t necessarily influence my writing (though it certainly influences my speaking, specifically my proclivity to talk in metaphors), but Texas is often the reason for my writing. This state is an endlessly fascinating subject, and one I will continue to cover for my entire life, whether I live here or not.
Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from?
My parents are both voracious readers, and when I was growing up, libraries and bookstores were a big part of my life. I have fond memories of my parents, my brother, and me all reading together in the living room. My father also self-published a book of poetry when he was a young man, so there’s a history of publishing in my family too.
How long have you been writing?
Since I could pick up a pencil? But truthfully, I’ve long considered myself more of an editor than a writer. Though, many editors I know will tell you that editing is often a lot of rewriting.
What do you think most characterizes your writing?
Being a reforming English major, my writing tends to be verbose with excessive use of adjectives and adverbs (I love a good description!). But I try to make my writing conversational. It sounds the way I speak. And while that may seem obvious, it took many years to finally realize that my speaking voice could also be my writing voice.
What was the hardest part of writing this book?
OUR REVIEWS
*****Kim's Review!*****
Oh my goodness this books is absolutely hilarious I'm still chucking now! New Balls Please is Dora's story, she's mother to Camille and Tyler from the first two Balls books. Dora having had enough of being taken for granted and over looked decides to take off on a holiday for one to Centre Parks. Poor Tim finding out his other half has gone off spending their joint holiday money, decides to take matters in his own hands and get his woman back!
I laughed so much throughout, I honestly love Dora she's a hoot! Absolutely hilarious things happen when both Dora and Tim set the wheels in motion to get their relationship back on track! Reading Dora's thoughts as she experiences the new Tim is just amazingly brilliant comedy! A very quick and funny read will leave you giggling for the rest of the day! Have a laugh and get some New Balls Please! Highly recommended to all! Can't wait for more from this series!
*****Nic's Review!*****
Dora is fed up with her family. She is feeling unappreciated and feels like no one cares. Dora decided to go on a little vacation by herself. This did not set well with her common law hubby Tim.
This was a funny book. It's also like reality in sorts. Marriage isn't all roses and chocolates. This book was about a couple who needed sorting out their issues. I love the style that this author uses in her books. There is so many funny parts. 5 Stars!!
This was a very sad and heartbreaking story. When Ashley was a young girl and needed her mom the most. Her mom was not there for her. This story is about a courageous and strong young girl who is going through the stages of healing. She was sexually, mentally and physically abused by her step dad. She was neglected by her mom.
When Ashley moved in with her dad and Step mom she was fragile and broken. This story was beautifully written considering the contents of the story line. I liked how the author put in the struggle of racism in that area as well. It too is a very real issue. This story was very good. I enjoyed seeing how Ashley was able to heal. It was difficult to see her struggles.
5 star rating!
Title: Back to Yesterday
Author: Pamela Sparkman
Genre: Historical Twentieth Century Romance (WWII)
 Release Date: May 2, 2016
Blurb
Everyone loves a good love story. The stories that make you feel warm all over. The kind that leaves you the slightest bit envious because the story belongs to someone else and not you. The stories that make your heart race and on the edge of pain and pleasure. Pain because your heart hurts and pleasure because your heart hurts. An unlikely combination, yet, that’s the stuff good love stories are made of.
Ours could have been like that. We could have made a beautiful love story.
But when he was ready for that epic love story, I was afraid to fall in love, too hurt by my past to trust anyone. Then, when I was ready for the epic love story, he was gone.
And I was alone.
And the only thing I got was the pain.
It was time I told him the things that were in my heart but too afraid to say out loud.
I wrote the letter I needed to write and prayed it wasn't too late.
Dear Charlie,
You were right. I was wrong. I've never been more wrong in my life.
There - I said it.
I’ll say it a million times if you just come back to me.
Come back to me. Please!
I was so wrong. I do love you.
Sophie
Prologue
Charlie
Her best friend found me sitting alone in the café. I guess she knew where to find me. It wasn’t hard. I was always sitting alone in the café, because it was where Sophie worked and I liked being near her. Though, she wasn’t here now and I likely wouldn’t see her again anytime soon.
“She’s heartbroken you know.”
Never once stealing a glance her way, I murmured, “I know.”
“You should go to her. I’ve never seen her like this.”
I closed my eyes, recalling the last words Sophie had said to me. It was what I’d been doing for the last two hours. In fact, her last words felt like they were woven around my neck like a noose, choking the life out of me.
“Charles, look at me.”
I didn’t. Instead, I chose to tell her what I knew to be true. “She doesn’t want to see me.”
“I don’t believe that.”
“Believe it.” I turned to face her so she could see my pain, my broken heart, and then redirected my eyes back out the window. “Besides, it’s probably better this way.”
Her friend slid in the booth across from me. “Better for whom? Her or you?”
“For both of us I suppose.”
With a sigh, she made the request again. “Please look at me, Charles.”
Hesitantly, I granted her request and turned to her. Her eyes wore empathy, and her smile held regret. “I know you told her you were leaving tomorrow and I know she hasn’t admitted it to you yet, but she loves you. You have to know that.”
Swallowing the ache I felt, I nodded. “I know.”
“Well if you know then why are you sitting here? Why aren’t you with her trying to–”
“I know what I’m doing,” I said, standing abruptly. I reached into my pocket, pulled out some money and slapped it down on the table. “I’m giving her what she wants.”
Coming to a stand beside me and getting in my face, she said, “Yeah? And what is that exactly?”
Ignoring her question, I headed for the door. She followed, nipping at my heels all the way. “I can’t believe you! You’re just gonna leave…without another word…just like that?”
I was coming unraveled at the seams. Once outside, I spun around and gripped her shoulders, startling her when I did something I never do…I raised my voice. “Yes! That’s exactly what I’m gonna do!”
Her eyes darted back and forth between mine while she tried to make sense of it all. “But…why?”
I loosened my grip and stated in a softer tone, hoping I could make her understand. “Because… it’s the only way she’ll ever admit that she made a mistake. I have to let her think she lost me, Elizabeth, and you have to let her think that too.”
“I don’t understand. You should fight for her.”
I took a step back and looked her right in the eyes. “I am fighting for her. I’ve been fighting for her.” I bowed my head, feeling the gaping hole inside my chest where my heart used to be, and in a whisper said, “It’s her turn to fight for me.”
Author Bio
I grew up in Alabama and have always been an avid reader. I had a stack of those Little Golden Books and I can remember reading Three Little Kittens over and over and over again. It was my favorite.
Fast forward and the older I got the more in love books I became. So, I'm admitting that I am a huge nerd. The only reading I don't like are those math word problems. And I'm okay with that because no one has ever asked me in real life... "If I give you two bananas and take away six apples, how long will it take the southbound train to collide with the northbound train if Johnny left his house at midnight?" It just doesn't happen.
So, yeah, books are my thing.
Oh, and writing. I love to write. So, I did. Write, I mean. And when I was finished I had a story in front of me about a girl named Lily, and a guy named Cooper. And when I reached the end, I felt - lost. Like, I was saying good-bye to old friends. It snuck up on me and I realized I wasn't ready to let go. It was then I decided that I needed to keep writing - keep telling stories - and hopefully some other people may enjoy them as well.
